Make sure you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard. The first thing I suggest when people have issues with a Creative card is to make sure to do everything on this list. I've had cards based on just about every different creative released chip and never had an issue except for the horrible sound quality of the AWE32. The card could have a faulty capacitor, though I have never run into that with a Creative card as of yet. Note: I acknowledge that some people hate/abhor Creative Labs' products but I've had great experience with every first-party & third-party sound cards with their technology built-in. I noticed that it's oddly similar to the E-MU 1212M PCIe Digital Audio System, which is a professional model that was updated from the E-MU's own 1212M PCI version with Creative (to a PCI Express interface). Creative seems to have taken a few pages from Auzentech & went all out with it. It appears to have excellent build quality & comparitive parts to the X-Fi Prelude. I just ordered this very new sound card from Newegg & I'm quite excited to see how well it compares to my very unsupported Auzen X-Fi Prelude. ![]()
